Rachel
Answer:

Question:
Why did my order come UPS 3-day select? I didn't ask for it and it must have cost more to ship?
Answer:
Actually, if your order came "UPS 3- day select", that was the cheapest way for it to ship. Al lot of time, specially with over-sized items like 72"-84" and 96" clamping quilt bars. United Parcel Service for some reason or another charges less to ship something over-sized by 3-day select than normal ground. Don't call them~ They might fix it.
Question
What kind of Clear coat did you put on my rack.?
Answer:
The clear coat finish we use is Bulls Eye Shellac by Zinsser. It is
an All-natural, non-toxic, very durable finish, works great to protect your prized quilt or wall hanging. UV resistant and non-yellowing, it is absolutely safe to use on children's toys. Please Note: Currently this is an added option not
yet added to each item. Please

Question:
Ok! I'm sold, I have a gift shop and would like to put some of your items in my store. Do you sale Wholesale to shops?
Answer:
Good Question. One not easily answered! We can only sell wholesale when time allows. That means if it is Christmas time, or we're busy you might have to wait a while to get your order. We always have one or two wholesale order in at one time.. They usually wait about 8 week. All you can do is call. But the answer is Yes~ we do sale wholesale.
Question:
What is the difference between Pine and Oak?
Answer:
Oak is al lot Harder, and accepts stains better. Pine is soft and mares easier, plus it sometimes doesn't stain evenly.
Question:
Why do you recommend 2" more on my Quilt Rack?
Answer:
In most cases, it's always a good idea to have a little extra room. Our Compression Type Clamping Bars (for example) are made with an ½" shorter front bar. This way the ends are finished, not just chopped off. Two inches is just a ball park figure.. you can go as much as 4 or 5 inches if you like.. As long as you center your guilt or wall hanging, everything should look fine.

Question:
How are your racks fastened to the wall?
Answer:
Most of our Compression type Quilt Bars and shelves are designed with "Steel Keyhole Hanger". These steel hangers are installed with screws and have holes drilled though them to help with marking the spot on the wall to hang your rack.
Examples of Hanging Hardware
Place your rack on the wall where you
would like to hang it, stick a nail or something pointy though the holes where
the Steel Hangers are, mark the wall. Using a Sheet Rock #8 1½"
course thread sheet rock screw. Place the screws at these locations. Then hang your quilt on the Quilt Rack and then hang your rack by placing the keyhole hangers over the screws.. Some of our racks also come with Holes and Buttons for easy hanging. In this case. remove the buttons and put screw through hole into wall and then
replace button.

To install this anchors, Tap the molly into the hole until the head is flush with the drywall. Molly's have metal "teeth" that grip the drywall, and it is important these teeth are firmly embedded. Then turn the molly's screw clockwise. This pulls the base of the molly towards the inside of the wall while expanding the metal legs. A tip... though most molly screws have a combination Phillip's/slotted head, use a slotted screwdriver... the Phillips may slip and cause damage to the wall! Stop screwing when you
feel strong resistance and the top of the molly has pulled tightly against the wall. The graphic (left) shows what you can't see... inside the wall.
There is a pliers-like tool known as a molly setter that can be used to expand molly's without the use of a screwdriver. The tool pulls the screw head straight out, expanding the legs. This tool is a real timesaver for a pro, but is somewhat expensive for the weekend molly installer! The graphic to the right shows NH wasting another molly during a demonstration. Oh... the humanity!
We
recommend using an self drilling E-Z Ancor ® Drywall Anchor by
Buildex. Found at your local Home Depot. Size: 50 Lbs.
To install these anchors, it is advisable to first use an awl to punch a small hole the size of the "point" in the drywall. Though they are designed to be "self-starting", providing this starter hole will give you a more accurate installation. Then screw the anchor into the drywall with a Philip's head screwdriver until the head is flat against the wall surface. These can also be installed with a screw gun or a regular power drill with a screwdriver attachment. The surface of the drywall may distort, tear or slightly "buckle" as the anchor is
installed... this is perfectly normal and to be expected.
As you can see from the graphic (left), the pointed end of the metallic version spreads open in the wall when a long screw is installed. This spreading does not add any strength to the anchor... the points are just getting out of the way of the screw! In fact, the points can be broken off before installation if less penetration into the wall is desired. You would need to pre drill a slightly larger hole for the large threads to grab the drywall, however. Threaded drywall anchors are available in both nylon and
metal. In my opinion, forget about the nylon type. They are not very sturdy and are more likely to break when installed than the metal ones. The price difference is so slight that I don't understand why they are manufactured. I guess (choose one) either someone else likes them OR there is always a market for a cheaper product!
How strong are threaded anchors? They have somewhat more holding strength in drywall than plastic expansion anchors... what doesn't... but not a lot more. Probably about double the strength... up to 15 lbs to 25 lbs on a good day. Over all, they are meant for the same, non-critical light-duty hangings as plastic expansion anchors, and shouldn't be relied on in critical applications.
Toggle bolts
are also for hollow walls and heavy objects. First the hole, the "wings" are
pushed into the hole, they expand once inside the wall and as you tighten in on
the screw the wings are pulled up tight against the backside of the wall.

Question:
Why we do not a-line the hanging holes to the 16" or 24" studs in your homes
walls.
Answer:
We have been doing woodworking for the past 25 years, and making Quilt racks for
the last 10 years. During all this time, after making everything from Shelves,
candle sconces, calendars, shadow boxes, peg racks and yes, Quilt rack and
hangers, we have found that no matter where we put the hanging holes or
fasteners. When you go to hang it on a wall in your home, you probably will not
find a stud or both studs to hang your item. You usually put the item where it
looks the best in the room, with no regards to where the studs are located
inside the wall. So with that said, this is why we do not locate our hanging
holes or fasteners at 16”, 18, 24” centers on our products. If you feel you need
this, just ask, we’ll be nice a do it for you.
